Our founder, Bandi Venkartaiah’s forefathers were into wooden handicraft making since ages. His forefathers migrated from Etikoppaka village of Visakhapatnam and settled in Chittor district, trained the rural people, spread the art and developed artisans in the district and were the cause for developing livelihood opportunities in the village. As this art is dying day by day, they encouraged rural people to take this as a profession.
Approximately, 200 artisans from Andhra Pradesh are involved in the manufacture of these wooden lacquered crafts. Currently, nearly 15 families are working with us and earning a stable income. The Handicrafts Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh has identified our work and allotted a permanent stall in Shilparamam, Hyderabad and Tirupati. We have also employed artisans for store management in both the premises impacting their social lives.
