Come and learn about safe food preparation, healthy eating, organic living, various lifestyle hacks and techniques that you can easily adopt to lead a holistic balanced life.

An engaging session, spearheaded by Dr. Mythri Shankar - an internationally renowned physician, chef, avid organic farmer & environmental activist who has been working extensively with cancer causes, diagnosis and treatment both in USA and India achieving a balance between traditional wisdom value systems and modern advances in technology. 

She strongly believes that prevention is better than cure and one of the simplest ways to reduce carcinogen/toxin burden is to adapt mindful eating and living practices in an eco-friendly way. The hands-on practical training and experiential interactive workshop will be conducted at The Green Hub, a happy creative studio space located within her award-winning Organic Kitchen Garden.

4.15-4.30 PM: Coffee Break.

4.30-4.45 PM: Garden Tour & Hand-picking of fresh herbs and harvesting produce of the day.

4.30-6.00 PM: Live Demo and Workshop. 

Contents of the workshop

- Cooking with Millets

- Fusion Cooking adapting Indian/Desi recipes to Global/International Cuisine.

- How to choose the right oil & salt for your family.  

- Cookware (Plastic/Nonstick/Cast Iron/Terracota): Facts & Myths 

- Cooking Techniques (Microwaving & Pressure cooking): The right way. 

- Growing your own food: Microgreens, Fruits & Vegetables.

- Buying: Understand which foods are really Super and Why?

- Understanding: The saga of the Organic Foods, Quality calories to satiate your cravings

- Preparing: Pesticide free & Chemical free clean eating, Vegetable Prep to remove harmful chemicals. 

- Kitchen Waste Management & Zero Waste living 

At the hands-on workshop, we will be making & serving atleast one dish in each category after freshly harvesting some of the ingredients with soil to table time of fewer than 5 minutes! 

Atleast 4 recipes/combinations in category will be discussed: 

1. Green Juice ( Wheat grass-based)

2. Soup ( Millet based ) 

3. Salad ( using Millets & Microgreens) 

4. Green Tea/Green Coffee (Brewing)

5. Green Smoothie (Millet based ) 

6. Sandwich/Roll fillings/Pizza (Millet based). 

Kitchen waste management topics covered: 

1. Composting (Aerobic & Anaerobic) 

2. Fruit Enzymes 

3. Recycle, Reduce & Re-purpose

4. Jeevambruta (Plant Fertilizer ) 

5. Greywater harvesting
