The thought of giving a new life to solid waste or old newspapers was what led to the birth of ACT Paper Wings. Paper Wings is a part of Action Center for Transformation(ACT) - a non-profit social development organization based in Gurgaon district of Haryana. We work with 300 rural women from Haryana who are given skill development training and continuous market opportunities. These women earn a livelihood to support themselves and their children by making products out of waste paper that is eco-friendly, unique, innovative, long-lasting and durable.
The paper products are intricately made by hand and make use of natural colours and lacquer to make it long-lasting. They make a wide range of products from home decor, table decor, stationery, jewellery, festival products, corporate gifting products, paper mache products and many more. Every month, the women recycle tons of newspaper and reduce footprint from the environment. We also facilitate the women artisans to form the 'Paper Wing Association' where the women are socially, economically and individually empowered.
