Himalayan Haat is a small-scale enterprise started by mother-daughter duo - Indira and Divya Chowfin. Run from our farm kitchen in Pauri, Uttarakhand, we use fresh produce from our farm, supplemented with naturally grown local produce, to make artisanal homemade products. Our products include a wide range of seasonal preserves, sauces, juice concentrates, pickles, herbal infusions and herbed salts.
These products are made by local village women who are employed and trained by us. Most of these women have alcoholic husbands, pushing them to a life of hardships. Through employment in our farms, we aim to make these women financially independent. These women harvest, cut, chop, can and package our products. We also hope to revive natural farming practices among the local community and educate them about the sustainable use of forests and other resources.
